Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father and mother are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. The actress is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sibling is Uria. Ryder along with her whole family moved to California's Mendocino County, when Ryder was only seven years old. There was no electricity. Ryder became an avid read because they had no television. Ryder was enrolled in acting classes when Ryder was 12years old and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. At the age of 15years old, Ryder was offered her first acting job on screen, in Lucas. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her high school years. Ryder believed that if she became an actor, her bullying could be reduced. But it wasn't to come to happen. However, she was determined to pursue the dreams she had. In 1988, she received her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in many movies. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her role on The Age of Innocence (1993).
