Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinctive blend that combines soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway and The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's birth the name of Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by singing and playing piano in church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the city's R&B Scene. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She was the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
