Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a artist who was born in Newark New Jersey on the 9th August, 1963. The parents of her are gospel singers Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) as well as John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. When she was a kid she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church choir in Newark. By the time she turned fifteen, Houston was singing professionally backing vocals with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman.
